Yamaha FX HO Colorizer - Unreal Engine 5

One goal I set for myself for 2023 is to finally learn the Unreal Engine and understand how I could use it to support my clients in the mobility space.  In-Vehicle displays, water craft, configurators...there is just too many places I see potential to deliver an elevated and real time digital experience.

My first project for 2023 was to take a personal concept I had been working on and bring it to life using UE5.
The idea was a simple colorizer experience using an old Yamaha FX HO Waverunner.  

Below is that finalized prototype in Unreal Engine 5.

This was a still of the original concept I made using Cinema 4D and After Effects.
These are some screens I took from my blueprint setup.  This logic is what drives the ability to swap materials in the geometry when you interact with the UI elements.
This is the simple setup used to integrate the Animation for the UI into the UI seen in the viewport.
Very simple UI layout to keep things clean and functional.
I learned a ton with this project and I can't wait to dive back into the next one.
